I Feel Sick - It may be a little late for this, but I don't give a rat's booty. This beautiful... thing was written and illustrated by the illustrious Jhonen Vasquez. What, you've never heard of him? Silly people. He's the same troubled man who brought us Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and SQUEE!, both very cool. The former of which was the thing that made me start my own fan-based website, partially dedicated to that comic book.
But I digress...
I Feel Sick is only a two-issue tale, printed from Slave Labor Graphics, but it brings hours of joy. Well, maybe not hours, unless you're a very slow reader, but you'll certainly find things rubbing off on you from this book. The things people say and do, even what they think sometimes, it's damn contagious, but it's also damn freakin' funny.
At this point, you're probably wondering just what the smeg this book is about. Well, I'll try and run it down for you. It's about a girl named Devi, who some of you may notice from J:THM. She's an artist who isn't really starving anymore, but she doesn't like the jobs that have been given to her. It's making her... odd. What's even more odd is that one of her paintings is talking to her. Yeah, it's kinda weird, I guess.
Anyway, if you like some twisted humor without the evil restrictions of the Comics Code, check this baby out. And if you can, look for Johnny and SQUEE! while you're at it. I suggest the collected versions, which can be found at Amazon.com. It's groovy.
