Synch!

  Chamber Chamber!
Name: Jonothan Starsmore
First Appearance: Generation X #1, November 1994
Powers/Abilities: Chamber's body is conceivably composed of psionic energy, which he attempts to control. His first power outburst caused the lower part of his face, as well as his neck and upper chest, to be completely blown off due to the extreme power that poured from him. Since he's composed of psionic energy, and is lacking a mouth, he communicates telepathically, and is able to emit bursts of energy as an offensive weapon.

History: Jonathan Evan Starsmore was born in London, England, where he lived until a short time after his first eruption of mutant power. With hopes and dreams of becoming a musician, Jono enjoyed playing his guitar, impressing the ladies as well, which may have led to his involvement with Gayle Edgerton. They became young lovers, and looked as though they could have a happy life together. However, fate had a different hand to deal to the two. Jono's mutant power suddenly made itself quite noticable, when it erupted within him, causing an explosion that not only took away half his face, but crippled his girlfriend as well.

Since then, nothing has been the same. Eventually, he was contacted on behalf of the Massachusettes Academy by Professor Charles Xavier. Xavier knew of his power and offered him a place to control his powers and be with others like him. Without much choice, now that he was scarred, forced to cover half his face with bandages and communicate telepathically (which, no doubt, freaks people out like the Dickens), Jono accepted and was soon brought to America, where he met up with his future teammates of Generation X, and their first adversary, Emplate, who intended on feeding off of Jono's mutant marrow within his bones. Naturally, he was thwarted, and he's been with the team ever since, also developing a love interest in Paige Guthrie, a.k.a., Husk. He also had a rather nasty reuinion with his former girlfriend, Gayle, who was simply helping Emplate to get Chamber and the other GenX kids.

Chamber is the resident angst-ridden mutant. He's quiet around the others, despite being friends for some time now, and seems to be cursed with bad luck. Lately, this has come in the form of Synch using Jono's power better than he's been able to, and Paige being a little hard to work with, in terms of furthering their relationship after the countless fall-throughs.
